Sounds and effects
Start with a built-in sound
The six built-in sounds are Fresh Tape, Moderately Worn Tape Simulation, Classical, Soft Classic Pop, Hardcore Metal and Dance Bass. Choose and use them in the app’s sound presets. Choose the tape texture you like, from fresh to worn. You can also enable shake simulation to let the motion of your phone affect the sound.
Arrange your own effect chain
Ten rack slots, six effects. Arrange them in your own order and save the sound for your next listen. PEQ-8 Eight-band parametric EQ · 4B COMP Four-band dynamic compression · DIG MASTER Mastering · TAPE NOISE Tape noise · GHOST TRACK Residual and reversed ghost sound · DIG STEREO Stereo field
Adjust the stereo field
Add DIG STEREO to an empty slot in the FX rack, then turn your phone to landscape to open the parameter panel. Use Width to narrow or expand left-right differences, Rotation to change the direction of the whole sound image, and Asymmetry to change the spread of the two sides.
Start with Width at 100%, Rotation at 0° and Asymmetry at 0. Make small changes to one parameter at a time. Hold “Compare” to compare the same passage, and adjust Output volume if needed. If the left and right channels are identical, changing Width alone will not create new stereo differences.
Change one listening goal at a time
The eight EQ bands are eight tools; you do not need to use them all. Listen to a familiar song and choose one issue. First gently reduce what feels uncomfortable, then compare the same passage before and after the adjustment. Detailed instructions for each effect are available in the app.
Save your own sound
After adjusting the current sound, save it as a new preset or update an existing setup. Before switching presets, the app asks whether to save the current changes. Unsaved sound is not already stored in the preset.

Wave Map
Turn your phone to see the sound
Turn the phone sideways to display Wave Map and watch the spectrum of the current music. Double-tap to control playback and drag left or right to take over tape transport. The picture and transport follow the same part of the music.
Return to listening
Wave Map is another way to observe the current music. Website images are introductions; actual playback, tape transport and sound adjustment take place in the DIG app.

Settings and common questions
Where can I revisit instructions?
Instructions come with the app and can be revisited in Settings. Start with the simple effect instructions, then learn the parameters gradually.
How do I enable the tape experience?
Choose Fresh Tape or moderately worn tape simulation in the sound presets, then enable shake simulation if you wish. You can also adjust effects individually and save your own sound.
How do I enable dynamic button reflections?
Turn on “Dynamic button reflections” under “Device simulation” in “Player settings”. It is off by default. When enabled, lighting on the four round buttons, MODE, grooves and tape wheel follows your phone’s orientation. It is controlled separately from “Shake simulation”, which affects sound; dynamic reflections do not affect sound.
Do I need an online music library?
Start with your own folders, without an online music library. Choose a song, press play, and stay with the music.
